Apple Walnut Crisp
Prep time: 15 minutes.
Cook time: 30 minutes.
Topping:
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Apple Filling
- 4 large green apples (about 2 lbs.)
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
Preheat oven to 375°F. Stir together all topping ingredients in a small bowl with a fork until it resembles coarse crumbs; set aside. Stir together all filling ingredients in a medium bowl and transfer to an 8 or 9-inch lightly buttered baking dish. Crumble topping over filling. Bake for 30 minutes or until mixture is hot and bubbly and topping is golden brown.
